Legoland California: Miniland      Washington, DC at Legoland

Legoland California is in Carlsbad, one hour south of Anaheim/Disneyland, or half an hour north of San Diego.

MINILAND

This gentle ride is a good way to see everything along the lakeshore and in Miniland without getting tired feet. Looks like grown-ups enjoy Legoland as much as kids do.

I Left My Blocks in San Francisco:Miniland USA includes intricate Lego models of famous American places, such as San Francisco. In the foreground are Victorian homes that can be found in the City by the Bay.

The New York City skyline as imagined by Lego designers.

Times Square, Lego style

Mini Times Square: The level of detail is quite impressive, as shown in this depiction of Times Square.

Kids of all ages love Lego mini-worlds....

A Lego Stretch Limo: The Los Angeles exhibit includes the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard and Griffith Observatory.

White House: Note the size of the people in the background. Then imagine the number of Lego blocks used.

Sydney Opera House

The Taj Mahal constructed from Legos.

Miniland was a geographical delight.  Portions of Washington D.C.,  New York City,  and San Francisco are represented along with the Taj Mahal, the Sydney Opera House, and a New England fishing village, to name a few.

The miniature villages are alive with moving Lego vehicles that drive down the road, people fill sidewalks, boats glide across the Lego lakes, and the subway pulls into Grand Central Station.

ROBOCOASTER ~ Knight's Tournament

Fire-Breathing Thrills

A Lego dragon stands guard at the Knight's Tournament Robocoaster, while riders take a spin on the robotic arms

This Isn't so Bad

Guests can choose the intensity of the ride, using a five-point scale. Level 1 and 2 rides are quite mild.

Reflecting Pool

The robotic arms suspend riders over a pool of water. Guests in an observation area can trigger water cannons to splash and disorient riders

Isn't This a Thrill Ride?

For guests choosing a level-five experience, the highest thrill level, the ride may start with some relatively gentle moves.

Never Mind

At the more thrilling ride levels, the Knight's Tournament Robocoaster quickly begins to toss riders around like rag dolls. It's a surprisingly potent ride experience for a theme park that's otherwise geared to younger children.

Skyward : The robotic arms extend high into the air. While Knight's Tournament doesn't reach the height of a typical roller coaster, it does mimic the ride experience of a coaster with inversions.

A Hair-Raising (Falling?) Ride

It can be difficult to tell which end is up on the Knight's Tournament Robocoaster.

This ride twists and turns you in the air, but you can select how intense you want the experience to be.

Robocoaster ride

North America's first "Robocoaster," Knight's Tournament uses robotic arms that allows guests to choose a ride experience ranging from mild to surprisingly potent. It uses robotic arms to flip and toss riders around, but guests choose the level of intensity before they board.

Thrill Scale :  using a 5-point scale. Levels 1 and 2 are quite mild. Level 5 is fairly intense.
